Baby Bison Viewing Day 2007 was a huge success! We had just short of 800 visitors during the course of the day. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all. Our beef babies were late this year, but wouldn't you know, the first one came on Tuesday...the day after Memorial Day. They have been falling from the sky ever since and as of June 22nd we had 18. They are all shades of red, taking after their sire. So many people thanked us for having this event every year. It is our pleasure! We feel a large part of our job is education and we answered a lot of questions. The only way we exist is with the support of our customers who make an extra effort to buy our products. Your support ensures that you and your family have a more wholesome choice in what you eat. So visit family farms that direct market their products whenever you can, or those choices will disappear. The Oconomowoc High School Future Farmers of America did a great job of cooking bison burgers for the crowd and made a pile of money for their program. Thanks to all who supported them. The future of Battle Creek Beef is here! Meet our new herd bull. He is a full blood, registered Red Devon, acquired from a herd in Tennessee, and will be breeding for us this summer. Find out why we are transitioning to the Red Devon breed and why grass fed meats are the best thing to feed your family. Check out the bulletin board in the farm store for all kinds of information and facts. Remember....support your local family farms, we are an endangered species. See you on Monday, May 26th, 2008 for our next Baby Bison (and Beef) Viewing Day. Directions:
